Arame Salad

This delectable salad marries the delicate flavors of savory basil and bright pineapple and pepper.

I've enjoyed this salad even when I don't have fresh pineapple available. Tomatoes may be substituted for the bell peppers. In fact, the mildly salty arame is widely complimentary and lends itself to experimentation with many different herbs and vegetables. Create and enjoy!

Arame Salad
2 ounces soaked arame seaweed
1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup pineapple, chopped
1/4 cup basil, sliced
1/4 cup Nama Shoyu* soy sauce
3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons sesame oil (toasted, optional)

Mix all ingredients into a medium-sized bowl and toss.

Makes 2 servings
